Albert Ferraloro

Albert is the primary consultant at Manta® and was instrumental in the formation of Manta and in setting the direction for the organisation. He is a registered Australian Patent & Trade Marks Attorney and has over 18 years experience in the IP area having worked both in-house and in private practice.

Albert has had first hand experience with commercialisation and licensing activities within industry through his previous employment with the Orbital Engine Company, a well known Western Australian technology and IP developer. In his role as Patents Manager at Orbital, Albert had primary responsibility for the day-to-day running of Orbital’s in-house IP Department, including all aspects relating to the maintenance, expansion and enforcement of Orbital’s extensive IP portfolio (which at times included in excess of 1200 patents, patent applications and trade mark cases). Throughout his 10 years with Orbital, Albert was exposed to leading edge technological developments and acquired significant skills and expertise in a range of areas including the identification, evaluation, protection, management and commercialisation of IP.

Both prior and subsequent to his employment with Orbital, Albert gained valuable experience in private practice working with Patent & Trade Mark Attorney firms, most recently with the General Mechanical team at Wrays in Perth.

Albert works closely with a range of organisations to deliver tailored IP management solutions and services. In dealing with the IP management requirements and innovation issues faced by a variety of clients, he is able to make good use of the combined skills and knowledge gained from his time within industry and private practice.

Albert has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Western Australia and is a Fellow of the Institute of Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys. He is also the National Treasurer of the Licensing Executives Society of Australia & New Zealand, is a long-standing member of the society's Western Australian Regional Committee and is very active and well known in innovation, intellectual property, management and commercialisation circles.

As well as his of love of soccer, Albert is also an avid golfer, plays squash and tennis regularly, and has a keen interest in motor-sports and martial arts.
